What do about my boyfriend snoring?
My boyfriend is only 20 and his snoring is awful most nights. It keeps me awake and is frustrating. I know their are surgeries out there to fix it, and some say exercise helps. The nose strips and sprays do not work because it is coming from his throat, not his nose. He believes he has sleep apnea, but we do not have the money to test for this. Anyone else experience this and can reccomend a solution thayt worked for them?
Sometimes not sleeping on his back works, but when it is really bad snoring, sleeping on his sides does not help at all still.
Sorry, one more thing. I have considred ear plugs, but I have to hear the alarm to get up. An alarm rarely wakes him up, I have to wake him up usually.
Your boyfriend needs to seriously consider testing for sleep apnea, especially if the snoring seems to be throat-based. I’ll just bet he has it, too. Age is not a factor; I am told kids as young as 12 can have it.
I have it and didn’t know it. For me, it wasn’t a snoring issue; it was an issue with not getting a restful night’s sleep. I’d wake up in the morning and feel completely exhausted.

whats the best solution in putting up with a SNORING husband? do earplugs work at all?
im struggling to even type as im so tired, hubby snored all night so i went on the uncomftable couch at 4am , where i still struggled to fall asleep, but i at least got 2 hours
if we had a spare room id use it but all i have is the couch, if i brought some earplugs to sleep in would they block out his snoring?,,
i really need help, i know so many disgraceful men snore,, how do i get some sleep, HELP xxxxxxxxxxxx
By the way,, id definately say he may have apneoa,,, but hes too damn stubborn to get tested as it dosent bother him and hes selfish to care about me or his health
my dad wears a cpap machine to bed 4 his snoring and dad hates it,, so my hubby definately dosent want one!,, lol
awwww, you poor thing – especially after a late night – the last thing you want is a friggin snoring husband..!!
Since men are so stubborn and blame us for everything, I would give the ear plugs a try. If you can get spongy soft ones, they wont hurt your ears so much. Maybe the chemist has them?
Sleep apneoa is actually quite dangerous to a persons heart and brain so he should do something about it NOW while hes still young…!!
Alternatively you can tell him that he gets nothing (*wink wink*) until he stops snoring!!
